Into the studio

These are some photographs I did for a Studio assignment last year. I like experimenting in the studio but I have to say I love natural light much more! Hope you've had a brill week x

Lyrical beauty

Another first year assignment: Fotoquote. We had to photograph in the style of a film genre. I chose Jane Austen films like Pride and Prejudice. I wanted to create beautiful timeless pictures with a painterly quality. Here are a few of them...

Something Sweet :)

I'm a bit of a girly girl and a sucker for anything pretty and cute. These are some photographs I took in the 'Staged' genre as part of an assignment for First Year in 2010.
Second Year has started with a bang! I'm already working on a few assignments and did my first shoot for one of them in the weekend which I will share soon hopefully. I have readings to do for my Theory class too. Ah! Would way rather be behind the camera. Hope you are enjoying the last of the Summer days!

2009 School work

For my Year 13 Folio I looked at many different artist models, such as Anna Gaskell and Terri Weifenbach. I wanted to use a model in a natural environment and use vivid colours for powerful effect. I wanted it to be intense and soft at the same time. Here's a couple of photographs from it...

Talent hunter

Studying Photography I often need to use models for my work. I love photographing people and working with them makes the whole process just that much more exciting! My family and friends are often roped in as "talent" for my various projects. I'm lucky enough to have three wonderful sisters who have all been a part of my work at some point or another. Thanks team!
These are a few photographs from a school assignment back in 2008 with my younger sis as the model (Oh and my Mum in the last one!). It is funny looking at these photos again, how I took them and how much I have learnt since then. Had to start somewhere though didn't I?

School Work

Throughout school I sold a few of my photographs and entered some in competitions. Here are a few still life shots from 2008/2009.

WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

I have created this blog to record my journey into the wonderful world of photography and beyond. Right now as I am studying, I enjoy experimenting with photography in different ways, taking every good opportunity that crosses my path and just getting LOTS of practice and experience. I love people and am inspired every day by the people around me, online and also the beauty of the world itself. I have always loved taking photographs but particularly became passionate about it when I took it as a subject at High School. So, I thought I'd give you a little history of my photographic life so far over the next few posts, starting with a few photos from my Sixth Form Photography Folio. I photographed a cute little church near my family's home. Enjoy!
