NZFW 2012 Day 1 & 2

At the beginning of this month I was lucky enough to be a part of New Zealand Fashion Week. I did the photography competition and was able to photograph every show! This was an amazing opportunity and so much fun. I have been thinking about how to blog these photos for a while now, as I have THOUSANDS of them but I'm sure you don't want to see every-little-detail of Fashion Week for the rest of the year... so I have picked a few goodies and decided to show 2 days at a time, starting with the beginning-Tuesday and Wednesday of NZFW.

DAY 1-
The very first show of NZFW was Ruby/Liam which was definitely a highlight. The rest of the designers on the day included: Cybele, Coop, Company of Strangers, Hailwood, Juliette Hogan and Zambesi.
There were also Designer Selection shows throughout the week with a few pieces from each NZFW designer.










DAY 2-
Designers: Twenty-Seven Names/Ingrid Starnes, New Generation Show (Arielle Mermin, Daniel K, Dmonic Intent, Silence Was), Deryn Schmidt, NZ Weddings Magazine Collection (A La Robe, Anna Schimmel, Alma J, John Zimmermann, Crane Brothers, Michelle Yvette, Sera Lilly and Vinka Design), Andrea Moore, Riddle Me This and Trelise Cooper.

Rue de Seine Bridal Shoot

Oh hey there! I have survived a crazy, full-on few weeks (just!) shooting and editing thousands of images for New Zealand Fashion Week. It was quite exhausting but I had a blast! I went to nearly every show, met some incredible people and now consider myself an in-vogue, up-to-the-minute fashion idol. Okay maybe not... but it was so exciting to see all the brand-new collections from designers and be in the thick of the powerful beast that is the fashion industry. More on that to come...
A little while ago I did this pretty little bridal shoot I think you will like. Thank-you to my amazing make-up artist Gabrielle Houghton and my stunning models Ruby, Danielle and Lydia from Clyne.
Also huge thanks to Michele from Rue de Seine for letting us use her incredible dresses. If you are getting married, you seriously have to check these out, they're absolutely stunning!

A peep at what I have been up to lately...

I have been a busy gal lately, with lots of shoots and exciting projects going on. I thought I'd give you a little look at what I've been up to! Full posts to come...

1. I took some photos for my Aunty at her groovy little shop: Floosie.




2. Started a little bridal/fashion project with this shoot in some absolutely beautiful Rue de Seine dresses.




3. I collaborated with some talented people for this studio hair shoot.


4. I took some behind-the-scenes snaps and tagged along on this inspiring shoot with the lovely Lucy Rice.

I am so grateful to be able to do all these exciting things and couldn't do it without the support some of my fabulous friends- photographers, stylists, make-up artists, hairdressers, models and other collaborators. This is just a quick stop in before my 'next big thing': NZ Fashion Week! I am part of the Next Top Photographer competition this year which I am so excited about, it's going to be a crazy/awesome/busy week. Profile shoot: Jane Mow

A few weekends ago I had the privilege of photographing the stylish, beautiful Jane Mow. Jane is an extremely talented designer and stylist. I have been lucky enough to collaborate on a few shoots with her now and it is an incredible thing to watch Jane in action- overflowing with creative ideas and full of energy, she is so much fun. Jane's amazing hair was styled by Kaleb Pritchard for this shoot.
